OUR STORY

Lynda Phoenix is the founder of The Happy Craft Box, she is passionate about health, wellbeing and the arts, and has worked extensively in the wellbeing and the creative arts industry.

She is a certified Happiness Facilitator, and officially accredited by the Complementary Medical Association.

Back in April 2020 at the start of the first national lockdown she became increasingly concerned about the effect the pandemic was having on children. By using art therapy and mindfulness she helped her own daughter through the isolation and change of routine using these powerful techniques.

As lots of children's lives had been thrown into complete upheaval in the midst of these uncertain times she knew these techniques would help other children.

An estimated three children in every classroom has a diagnosable mental health problem.

Rates of depression and anxiety in teenagers have increased by 70% in the past 25 years.

Lynda believes it's crucial for parents to support their child learn the skills to live a happy and fulfilling life.

TAKING YOUR CHILD FROM ‘MIND FULL’ TO ‘MINDFUL’

Every day our children fill their brains up with information, such as watching TV, phones, social media and excessive screen-time. Children's brains become busy and 'mind full' instead of ‘mindful’.

By letting busy thoughts go, there’s more space in our brains to respond well, feel more happier and content and bounce back when things don't go the way we want them to.

What makes a child grow into a happy adult? The answer is good emotional wellbeing.

HOW DO OUR BOXES HELP?

Emotional intelligence includes the ability to understand and regulate emotions and emotional wellbeing includes positive mindset and good self-esteem.

By applying mindful awareness to thoughts and feelings it creates an inner space that allows you to be with your experience without believing the negative stories your mind can churns out.

It is essential that children learn the art of happiness.

Negative beliefs can impact our lives greatly and can be hard to shift as we grow older.

It is very empowering for a child to create positive thoughts and feelings of self-worth, so they can bounce back from life's inevitable challenges.

HOW DOES CREATIVITY HELP EMOTIONAL WELLBEING

Creativity helps children share their thoughts, ideas and feelings.
Creativity helps challenge children and problem solve
